This is the easiest way to calculate from your mobile phone. Unlike the default calculator, every operation can be controlled by the joystick.

The application may not be useful as the author is suggesting, but I must tell that it is a real cool application that I wish to have in my phone. This can scan around your place to find other bluetooth devices in range and can notify you. It can add a bluetooth device by its bluetooth ID also. For Nokia phones, you can press *#2820# to know the id.

But it is not free. It is priced at $6.95. A trial version is available. But it is very much restricted - only one device can be added to the list. . Umm… I wish, I could find a free alternative.

There is a nice application which turns your N73 as a good quality web cam. As it works by bluetooth what you’ll get is a wireless web cam (your PC should have a bluetooth dongle. If you using a laptop bought recently, 99% chance is it will have bluetooth support built in.) You can also find a USB version. The application can use either the front camera or the normal one in the rear side. The application have two parts. One is to be installed on the PC and the other on the phone. You can refer the help provided in the application for configuration settings.

In my case installation was easy and the video quality was better than an average web cam. I tried it using Yahoo. You can also create videos for youtube or other video sharing sites.

The biggest downside is it is not free :(. You can the try the software for 7 days with some limitation. Then you need to purchase it. Unfortunately the price is a little high. At $20 you can easily buy a good normal webcam. But for technology enthusiasts it is a cool application.

If you have either GPRS/EDGE/3G service activated then you can stream radio from the internet. Nokia developed an open source application for playing internet radio for the S60 3rd edition phones. As it is open source we can expect lot of enhancements in the near future.

For downloading the application visit http://opensource.nokia.com/projects/s60internetradio/ClientPage.html . A sample play list can be found there. You can add more by going to http://www.shoutcast.com. Search your favorite genre and click the “tune in” button. You will get a playlist (.pls file). You can also add more stations to the same play list file.

If you’re using GPRS connection then anything over a bitrate of 32 kbps will not be played smoothly. Go for a recommended bit rate of 24 kbps. It will give you average sound quality and smooth streaming without no pauses. If you have EDGE/3G then go for 96kbps or more.

Mobile DivX player. It can play .avi, .mp4, .divx files. And the interface is simple. you can forward, rewind control volume etc.

It won’t take much time to register. After registration login with given username (email id) and password. You can download it from the link S60 3rd edition.

You can use the free opensource Dr.Divx for converting your videos to divx files. Make sure you select the portable profile, or build a custom profile with 15fps or less frame rate, 400kbps bit rate etc. Otherwise you can use Super (discussed earlier in this blog.)
