Do you like the game of Chess? Even if you don’t, try to learn it as it can increase your IQ

I am talking about Chess Genius, which is one of the best chess games on a mobile. I have installed it in my mobile so that I can play while I am traveling back to home from work place.

It offers a lot of configuration options and features a game play of 30 level. So it is for everyone - from the novice to the professional chess player. At higher levels, I couldn’t even win a single match.

And it offers good playability. With the joy stick, we can control all moves. It can also suggest you a move. If you make a wrong move, it will warn ( you can turn off this feature).

You can change the board color, pieces etc.

Though it is not a freeware, you can download it freely and try without any time limitation though it will ask you to register every time. (Some features will not be available, if unregistered).

Some days back I checked the Nokia Downloads section from my phone. And there I found a Zip manager for download. I installed it on my phone.

The program is pretty useful, it can open compressed files. If you get some messages with zip files, you can open it with this program. Besides you can create compressed archives of files in your phone and transfer it to another phone or computer via bluetooth. It also offers a variety of compression levels. With normal compression selected, the compression/decompression speed was pretty good.

It also supports password protected zip files. You can create or extract password protected zip files.

Check your Download! section from the menu. If you’re lucky enough you will find it there.

Creating an Archive

Goto a folder in either phone memory or memory card and create a new archive. Now you can add files to this archive.

Opening an Archive

Just click on the archive to open it. You can extract a particular file ( click on the file) or multiple files (Edit + OK) or all files.

Installation

You can either get it via visiting http://reader.kaywa.com/ from your mobile browser, by SMS, or by direct downloading. You need to register first.

Go to the registration page

The registration details will be sent via email. You need to activate your account by clicking the activation link.

Once installed, you can open the application from Main menu-> Applications. Don’t forget to open the lens cover.

Verdict:

A rather cool application with some use. As the name suggests (QR- Quick Response) it is really fast. It will not take much time to read an information from the QR code. And best of all, it is free.

Though Nokia developed this for Nokia N73, it is hard to find a download link for this as it has a known working problem with Nokia N73.

Anyway, I tried Nokia Asia and it was there in download section. I installed it and is working on my phone.

It is a basic barcode reader. A barcode may contain informations like phone numbers, expiry date etc. Some may contain more informations. It is depended on the barcode.

How to install?

Visit Nokia Asia to download. You should accept the license agreement to download.

Then you can install it either using Nokia PC Suite or by sending file to the phone using bluetooth.

Once installed, you can use it by Menu->Applications->Barcode

Open your camera lens cover and the application will start scanning. There will be two red line. Place the barcode in between those lines for a successful read. If the surface is glossy, it is very hard to read as the flash get reflected. Please refer the screen shots.

You can store the gathered informations for future use.
